A driveaway service means that your vehicle is driven personally from your pickup address in Canada to your destination address in the United States by an experienced, professional driver. Compared to shipping your vehicle on a transport truck, a driveaway service is:

When you work with Cross Country Valet, we will handle all the required paperwork to temporarily import your vehicle into the United States without your presence. As a registered carrier with U.S. Customs & Border Control, we are familiar with the various laws and procedures. Your vehicle will be fully insured during the duration of the trip under your existing insurance policy.

We Take Care of the Return Journey Too
Most of our snowbird clients use Cross Country Valet twice a year — once in the fall when heading south, and once in the spring when heading home. Our return service works exactly the same way in reverse: a professional driver picks up your vehicle at your winter address and delivers it back to your Canadian home while you fly north in comfort.
We recommend booking both legs of your journey at the same time to secure your preferred dates, especially during peak season when availability fills up quickly. Fall southbound trips are most in demand from September through November, while spring return trips peak from March through May.

How much does the vehicle delivery service cost?
The cost of the snowbird vehicle delivery is custom for each trip and depends on many factors including the specific date, the pick-up address, and the drop-off address. Reach out to us with your details to obtain an exact quote.
Are you authorized to transport vehicles across the border without my presence?
Yes, all we require from you is a letter indicating that you have given us your permission to transport your vehicle into the United States. As a registered commercial vehicle carrier with U.S. Customs & Border Control, we handle all the required paperwork and work with a customs broker when required to ensure a smooth transaction.
What is your cancellation / refund policy?
A client may cancel their reservation at any time for any reason before their vehicle is in our possession. If cancelled before 21:00 EST two calendar days prior to pickup, you will not owe any further payments. If cancelled at or after 21:00 EST two calendar days prior to pickup, 50% of the total amount will be due. Deposits are retained in either scenario to cover costs associated with the reservation.
What about insurance?
The vast majority of Canadian car insurance policies come with permissive use insurance coverage. This means that you still have coverage if another driver operates your vehicle, as long as you have given them permission to do so. In the unlikely event that an at-fault insurance claim occurs while we are in possession of your vehicle, we will pay the deductible.
Can you pick my car up from anywhere in Canada or the United States?
As a Canadian company, we can deliver vehicles to and from anywhere within Canada. At this time, however, trips must either start or finish at a Canadian address. This means we can deliver a vehicle from an address in Canada to an address in the United States, or vice versa, but we are unable to deliver a vehicle between a U.S. address and a different U.S. address.
Are you able to transport any type of vehicle?
We transport almost every vehicle type, as long as it has four wheels and requires a standard driver’s license to operate. The car has to be in drivable condition. We can also tow a small trailer upon request.
