Frequently Asked Questions
Which areas of Canada and the United States do you operate within?
We can deliver vehicles anywhere within Canada or to/from the continental United States. At this time, trips must have a Canadian address on at least one end of the delivery.
How much do you charge?
Our prices are custom for each trip based on factors such as the duration of travel and the cost of getting our driver to/from the pick-up or drop-off location. Reach out to us with your requirements to get an exact quote.
What about insurance?
The vast majority of Canadian car insurance policies come with permissive use insurance coverage. This means that you are covered if another driver operates your vehicle with your permission. Essentially, when you loan your car, you also loan your insurance policy. When the four wheels are turning, only the primary policy can be in effect. Although unlikely, if an at-fault insurance claim occurs while we are in possession of your vehicle, we will pay the deductible. Learn more about permissive use insurance.
Do you only deliver cars for snowbirds?
No – we will deliver cars for several different situations. While many of our clients are Canadian snowbirds, we also relocate cars to the United States for U.S. residents who are returning home or non-U.S. residents who are moving to the United States. How does the process work?
The first step is to contact us to get an exact quote for the job and to align on which dates the car will be picked up and dropped off. Once the drive has been confirmed, we will send you a contract and request a deposit to confirm your spot. Then, a qualified driver from our team will meet you at the location of your choosing to pick up the vehicle on the agreed-upon date.
It typically takes 2-5 days for us to drive the car to the destination, depending on distance. So you can either fly down right away and make other transportation arrangements while you wait to reclaim your vehicle, or you can schedule your flight so that we are able to meet you at the airport at your destination.
Are you authorized to transport vehicles across the U.S. border?
Yes. Cross Country Valet is a commercially registered cross-border driveaway service. We register all of our trips through a manifest with the border and work with a customs broker when required to ensure a smooth transaction.
Do you transport any type of vehicle?
We transport almost every vehicle type, as long as it has four wheels and requires a standard driver’s license to operate. Luxury car? Electrical vehicle? Beat-up old truck? Multiple vehicles? Whatever your requirements, we’ll work with you to find a customized solution. We can also tow a small trailer upon request.
